This session provides attendees with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to safely power, access, operate, maintain, and effectively use the TCAT (Trucking Cybersecurity Assessment Tool). Participants will learn the tool's core capabilities, including capturing and analyzing vehicle network data and interacting with vehicle diagnostic systems. This session will contain hands-on elements to enable deeper understanding of the TCAT and its capabilities and, ultimately, be integrated into shop and lab cybersecurity workflows. 

Please note: This session is limited to 12 participants, and participants will need to bring their own laptops.

Ben Gardiner

Senior Cybersecurity Research Engineer, NMFTA

Ben Gardiner is a senior cybersecurity research engineer contractor at the National Motor Freight Traffic Association, Inc.® (NMFTA)® specializing in hardware and low-level software security. Prior to joining the NMFTA team in 2019, Gardiner held security assurance and reversing roles at a global corporation, as well as worked in embedded software and systems engineering roles at several organizations.

Cybersecurity Research Engineer, NMFTA

Anne Zachos is a Cybersecurity Research Engineer at NMFTA. Anne has a strong background in embedded systems engineering and is dedicated to advancing cybersecurity within the trucking industry. Her work is centered on securing connected vehicle technologies, focusing on both the technical challenges of embedded firmware and the broader cybersecurity threats facing commercial transportation. Anne contributes to several American Trucking Association (ATA) TMC task forces as well as technical standards committees under SAE International.
