Modern telematics systems are the nervous system of trucking and logistics - powering fleet visibility, ELD workflows, dispatch operations, and cargo monitoring. That same connectivity creates a sprawling, full-stack attack surface across IoT hardware, cloud infrastructure, network communications, and the humans who operate these systems. Recent telematics-related incidents have shown the real-world consequences of compromise: loss of fleet visibility, large-scale data exposure, operational disruption, and the potential for cyber-enabled cargo theft.
In this session, two offensive security engineers from Samsara share a practical, vendor-agnostic view of how offensive security helps organizations find and fix vulnerabilities before attackers exploit them. Using anonymized composite scenarios informed by public breach reports and industry patterns, we’ll walk through common attack chains across the telematics stack - from embedded device access and firmware weaknesses to cloud/API authorization failures and credential-based compromise.
